Anne Wölk
Illustrator from Germany · 51 artworks
Anne Wölk (b. 1982, Jena, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. In her paintings, Wölk explores cosmic landscapes as imagined spaces of longing, blending elements of Romanticism and Photorealism with contemporary references to astronomy, science fiction, and digital image culture. Her multilayered compositions oscillate between figuration and abstraction, where glowing skies, planetary forms, and star clusters evoke both awe and estrangement. Through this tension, Wölk addresses questions of beauty, origin, and utopia in a technologically saturated world.
Wölk studied painting at the School of Art and Design Berlin, and at Chelsea College of Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at CICA Museum, South Korea; Elgiz Museum, Istanbul; and Casa de Cultura Ericeira, Portugal. Recent solo shows include The Island of Stars We Call Home and Questions for Heaven.
Her works are held in public collections such as the Elgiz Museum, CICA Museum, and the Casa de Cultura Ericeira.
