Peter Goodhall is an English oil painter with international recognition for his detailed, accurate, realistic and meticulously crafted original oil paintings and ink drawings. He has a collection of international awards and has had many solo exhibitions since his first in 1980. Much of Peter´s work is inspired by his life long fascination with the sea and all subjects of a maritime nature.
His paintings can generally be subdivided into two main categories. Traditional marine subjects, often sailing ships with historical connections that involve considerable research and in contrast his more contemporary canvases. These are closely observed images of water and lean towards photo realism - focusing on the patterns, distortions and movements that fleetingly appear, and bring a true meaning to the term ´waterscapes´.
