Ekaterina Ermilkina
Illustrator from United States · 100 artworks
Born in Russia, Ekaterina Ermilkina now lives and works in New Jersey. She grew up in Yalta, where she studied at the School of Art of F. Vasiliev, graduating in 1991. In 1992, she moved to Saint Petersburg and earned her MFA from the State Art and Industry Academy in 1998. The city's beauty and culture inspired her to paint cityscapes.
In 2005, she moved to the U.S., and her works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions at venues such as The New York Museum of Contemporary Art, The Hunter Museum of American Art, and Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles. Notable collectors include Kelly Clarkson.
Ekaterina's abstract paintings combine applying and removing oil paint with a palette knife. Her cityscapes are inspired by skylines like those of Manhattan and Chicago. By focusing on how light interacts with the subject, she creates energy-filled landscapes and portraits, drawing viewers into the piece through the merging of countless dots of color.
